Visual development of BAJAU: Sea Tales, a short animated film

BAJAU: Sea Tales is a personal project I did in 2020 for the visual development of a short animated film.
This is a tale about a young girl living with her grandfather in a Bajau settlement, a nomad tribe that live in floating shacks made of discarded materials and waste built in the middle of the sea.
I designed a few characters, did a few concepts for the settings and the assets that would appear in the story, and put forward a few keyshots that would convey the style and the mood of the product.

The main characters in the story, Bulan and her grandpa Adi.
